Run by Ludovic Walbaum since 1984, this vast estate, in the family for seven generations, covers 80ha.

The nose is small white flowers and vanillin.
In mouth, the wood persists, with nuances of butter, fat, good volume and a lively finale for overall balance.

The small "ampelographic garden" at the Domaine du Colombier.

Of course the Domaine du Colombier makes wine. But what makes it different is the evident pleasure the winemakers enjoy when they explain how they make it.
Another interesting aspect is that the father, who used to run the estate and has now turned it over to his son Ludovic, has planted about twenty different varieties of vines in a small garden, including four historical hybrids - jaquet, clinton, villars white and couderc. Couderc invented grafting to protect vines from the phylloxera which ruined many vineyards.

And then you enter a tiled vat dating back to the end of the 19th century, where you can hear the typical sounds that accompany fermentation.

Here you can taste and buy our Ardèche wines.

After canoeing down the Ardèche river gorges and a swim under the Pont d’Arc, go and taste Philippe and Ludovic Walbaum’s "Gris de Grenache" rosé. You will not be disappointed.
A remarkable wine in more than one way with an intense nose mingling peony, cherry, peach and just a hint of flintlock followed by a pleasant mouth, both rounded and fresh with great length, leading to a very fruity finale. An elegant and well-balanced rosé.
